China history questions Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

China history questions - Coursework Example This implies it was moderately simple to frame a domain in China, and once structure such realms just experienced uncommon worldwide obstruction until the cutting edge period. Past this, in any case, there are likewise parts of Chinese society that prompted this longstanding supreme nature. One is a bound together language: China was an exceptionally proficient society from its most punctual days, and pretty much a similar language (or commonly comprehensible vernaculars) have been spoken consistently over that go from that point forward. Past that, Chinese way of thinking has would in general be moderately man centric, commending the individuals who are in power as having the right to be so (either through the meritocracy of the administration tests or perfect right of the preeminent ruler) and in this manner social orders inside China were generally far-fetched to defy their overlords. In spite of the entirety of this, be that as it may, governments did once in a while fall. One of the most well known cases happened at the end of the principal Empire, when Qin kicked the bucket out traveling to the removed pieces of his realm, and his subordinates planned to put a malleable child on the royal position. For this situation, it can to a great extent be contended that the breaking down was brought about by overpowering significance of the character of the head in this early state, and the unpredictability brought about by a mainstream ruler biting the dust and his child having silly strategies. One instance of the topple of China’s power through attack happened by means of the Mongol intrusions of the medieval times. Here, the steppes that had some time ago acted like an insurance from China against attacking individuals really turned into the source an intrusion. The nation immediately shaped go into its magnificent propensities, in any case, with a Mongol ruler basically supplanting the Chinese ruler. This speedy reproduction as a result of the quality o f the organization and the overall adaptability of the Mongols, who would in general adjust effectively to new frameworks of control. One situation where the domain nearly fell however stayed together was the Rebellion of the Seven states. For this situation the Seven pseudo autonomous states under the Han administration defied further centralization of government †however a military clash permitted the Han to hold control, showing the intensity of the brought together royal armed force that the line had the option to create. 2. In spite of the fact that China envisioned itself to be a boundless domain, it was in purpose of certainty very compelled. The ideological underpinnings of this view of the centrality of China were to some degree very much upheld: to the extent China realized it was by a wide margin the biggest and most remarkable realm on the planet (and for the majority of this presence it was likely evident). Moreover, Chinese culture was put on a pedastul over all o thers, which were viewed as boorish. Regardless of China’s creative mind, be that as it may, it was anything but a boundless domain. In physical terms, China was in truth very restricted: as examined in the past part, China really had huge obstructions to passage on practically all sides of it. However for this, China engaged in worldwide relations, most noticeably with different nations in south-east Asia, yet in addition with substantially more removed people groups. China had some exchange over the Himalayas with India, who thus exchanged with Arabs who thus exchanged with Europeans. Accordingly, China had contact with the domains outside of itself, though

Social Justice Research Topics

Social Justice Research TopicsAs an expert in social justice research, I have seen so many topics come and go. However, one topic that I was always interested in was sex work. In my opinion, the topic is one of the most important ones and has many interesting twists and turns. As you may know, sex work is an industry that is very controversial. While some agree that it is a victimless crime, there are those who see it as a whole different way of life, with negative outcomes for the women involved. The debate continues. For those who believe sex work is not a victimless crime, there is still much to learn about the industry.Social justice researcher are the best person to look into this subject. They can look at the methods and laws that are present around the world and where they could be improved. Their studies show that although the industry is often perceived as a victimless crime, it can be detrimental to the health of prostitutes as well as to society as a whole. There are so many different research topics that can be done in this field, such as education, reporting and law. Since the study is very controversial, it should not be carried out in a public place or by people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Social justice research is too controversial for public hearings or public shows. However, the great thing about social justice research topics is that they can be done without anyone's knowledge, and at night. Now, obviously, to conduct these types of studies, a person needs to take part in them in order to get the necessary information. There are also people who want to work in this field for their own personal reasons. This means that they can choose to research for their own selfish reasons. Most people consider this kind of research to be a serious crime, but it is something that we should all be willing to consider. And while some people may take offense at the subject, research proves that it can be beneficial. There are many more social justice res earch topics out there. But that is the topic I am most interested in.

The American Dream The Exnotation Of The American Dream

The American dream, an idea that is inextricably linked with liberal democratic principles, is based on the notion that on American soil, every person has equal access to opportunity and fair treatment under the law. America has been, and continues to be a primary destination for millions of immigrants from around the globe because it promises hope, freedom, and most important, a fair chance; migration to America has been predicated on the belief that with hard work and determination, success will eventually come. However, today, whenever the American dream is uttered, a negative connotation too often appears to be attached to it. There’s a certain attitude of pessimism as those who speak of it attempt to argue that the dream is dead,†¦show more content†¦In his book, he notes â€Å"that white supremacy was so foundational to this country that it would not be defeated in my lifetime, my child’s lifetime, or perhaps ever† (Coates, We Were Eight Years in P ower 159). Mr Coates argues that the United Staes is a country in which white supremacy is an unconquerable force that will continue to exists, and black Americans will have to perpetually deal with it. His account paints a very dark and bleak imagery of the U.S.; he describes an American in which minorities have limited access to the American dream because of the color of their skin. In a very famous line, he writes â€Å"I had thought that I must mirror the outside world, create a carbon copy of white claims to civilization. It was beginning to occur to me to question the logic of the claim itself † (Coates, Between the World and Me 50). As young man, Coates believes he naively believed in the American dream, a product he as now come to view as â€Å"white claims to civilization† and only until he matured did he understand how the dream was unobtainable in full, by blacks. There are several mistakes in Ta-Nehisi Coates analysis of American life. His view is based o n the idea that black America’s problems today are a result of America’s sinful past, and white supremacy. This notion is absurd, because although slavery was devastating and racism is still very much present today, it

Ku Klux Klan Essays (414 words) - Religion, Culture,

Ku Klux Klan Prejudice comes in many forms. Two such forms of extreme prejudice are the Salem witch-hunts and the Ku Klux Klan. In the colonial time, from 1700 to 1775, the Salem witch-hunts took place. The KKK originated after the civil war and is still going on today. These two groups based their prejudice on religious beliefs. People from many different cultures founded our nation, which gives us a unique diversity that was and is not always respected. The Ku Klux Klan states they are based on Christianity and uses such symbols as the flaming cross. Burning the cross is supposed to represent opposition to tyranny and obedience to God. The KKK believes they are superior to all non-whites. The people responsible for the Salem witch-hunts feared and persecuted those whom didnt share religious and personal beliefs. A way of testing your beliefs was being forced to recite the 10 commandments without falter. Ku Klux Klan often expressed their beliefs by putting burning crosses in non-white homes, se tting homes and businesses on fire, and even hanging non-whites. In the same way, the witch-hunts would force those who were prosecuted to confess and incriminate, if not, they would be hung, burned, or in one case smashed to death. Both groups use Christianity against other people that differed from them. The KKK was an underground organization, and used robes and hoods to disguise themselves. Rarely did members become publicly known because they were denounced by majority of society. Public leaders such as, reverends and government officials conducted the Salem witch-hunts. The trials were often public events that were well attended by the general population. The Ku Klux Klan was not based on fear of non-whites, rather their own supremacy. While the witch-hunts feared those with different beliefs including what we would now consider, mentally disabled. What good are religious beliefs such as Christianity if they are twisted, warped, and used as an excuse for violence. The KKK can no longer get away with their violent acts because of their shrinking numbers and the prevalence of equal rights today. Hopefully nothing as severe as the witch-hunts could ecure today, although, the more recent McCarthy trials were similar in that they were based on fear. We are a nation of cultural diversity and that diversity should be respected, no one should have the right to force their beliefs on others. Social Issues

Essay on Visiting Spiritual Centers

Essay on Visiting Spiritual Centers Essay on Visiting Spiritual Centers Visiting Spiritual Centers As this class comes to an end, I have decided that I would like to continue my studies concerning the subject on my own. The information that I have been exposed to during the six weeks of this course has convinced me to be respectful and considerate in regards to the religious beliefs and practices of all religions, not just my own. This week’s application assignment gave us the opportunity to take a look at the places in which followers of various religions go to worship. In this document, I will describe the virtual tours of the Islamic, Hindu, and religious centers by providing details about the elements contained in them. I will also identify the similarities and differences between the characteristics of the spiritual centers and explain how these characteristics reflect each religion’s beliefs. I will conclude this document with a synopsis of how the visitation of these centers impacts my learning from this course. My first tour was of the Hindu temples. I immediately noticed that statues of the Hindu gods and goddesses. Statues of Gita, Durga, Rama, Krishna, and Shiva have been placed at the front of the temple with Rama being in the center. Statues of Hanuman and Ganesh are placed on the left and right sides. One of the temples I visited even had a partition that separated the areas as if worshipers are only allowed to get within a certain distance of the statues. The back of the temple is allocated for people to pray and there is also an area in the back of the temple for literature. There are pictures lining the walls of the area allocated for prayer. These pictures are depictions of the lives of the Hindu gods and goddesses. I believe the statues of the gods are placed in front of the temple because Hindus pray to different gods for different things. â€Å"Rama represents the concern, sensitivity, and tenderness of a male lover,† Durga â€Å"is the destroyer of evil,â₠¬ â€Å"Shiva, is thought of as the ‘lord of creatures’,† and Ganesh is â€Å"the god of good luck,† and Krishna is known as the reincarnate of the god known as Vishnu. (Nigosian, 2008) Next, I toured the Islamic temples. The Islamic temples are very complex. I took a tour of the Suleymaniye Mosque. It consists of multiple buildings that include education and social service buildings and even a guesthouse. The main entrance is gated. The entrance itself is adorned with golden inscriptions from the Quran. The prayer halls are covered with domes. The main dome contains paintings and scriptures. The walls are marked to indicate the direction of prayer as Muslims should face the Kaa’ba, the holy cube that is located in Mecca. There are also panels inscribed with quotations from the Quran on the entrance walls. The floor in the prayer dome is covered with red carpet that is designed to indicate individual spaces for people to pray. There is also an area in the temple where tourists are asked to stand so that they do not interrupt any activity in the mosque. Our textbook World Religions: A Historical Approach reveals that Muslims are required to pray five times a day. Prayer is usually performed in a mosque or another place of prayer. The temple also has a courtyard with floors made of marble. More than likely, the courtyard contains places for Muslims to wash their hands and feet. Clean hands and feet are required to enter the temple to pray. My final tour was of the Mormon temples. These temples have a few characteristics that are similar to the Christian churches I have visited. The exterior of the Mormon temple was grand. They have a baptistry where the living and deceased are baptized. The founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Later-Day Saints, Joseph Smith made claims of a revelation that deemed him to sanction â€Å"the ritual of baptism for the dead† (Nigosian, 2008). The Endowment room resembles the Christian church’s sanctuary, where the message of God is taught. The Mormon temple also has a room

Behavioural Economics - Assignment Example Thus, this discussion seeks to analyze the cognitive process of organizing, using and keeping track of financial usage for individuals and households, as related to the forecasting for possible attainment of gains or losses. In realizing this evaluation, the discussion will first assess the process of assigning and grouping different financial expenditures into different categories referred to as mental accounts, followed by the evaluation of the factors informing the choice financial spending or investment functions to align with the predicted chances of gains or losses. The Mental Accounting Theory provides an explanation related to how households and individuals keep track of where their incomes are going and how such entities apply active cognitive processes to control their financial spending (Dawes, 2001:47). The difference between conventional financial accounting undertaken by business entities and the mental accounting applied by individuals and households is that; there lacks specific and elaborate rules on how mental accounting procedures should be undertaken. Thus, the process of mental accounting can only be achieved through observing financial behaviors, and then inferring rules to the behaviors, so as to control future spending. Thus, due to the lack of elaborate rules to guide financial allocations to various individual or household spending activities, these entities apply a variety of subjective criteria that sees finances prioritized and allocated to different spending functions, for example based on the sources of the incomes or t he intent for the specific functions (Baddeley, 2013:147). Thus, the Mental Accounting Theory provides that individuals and households irrationally assign different spending functions to a certain asset group, which in turn results in detrimental effects on the spending behavior and consumption decisions subsequently mad by the entities (Tversky & Kahneman, 1981:455). In this respect,

Student in University Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Student in University - Essay Example As scholars say, time is a valuable resource, a distinguishing factor between success and failure. From this assertion, time management is the solution to this ever-lasting problem. Though a common phrase, the manner in which the strategy to manage time is laid dictates the end result. An ordinary behavior in many campuses around the globe is that tutors and professors dispatch course outlines and assignments at the beginning of the semester. To many students, this issue does not work to their favor since it encourages idleness. To the contrary, its advantages are more. It is from this that my strategy to strike a balance is derived. To begin with, each student need to create their own calendar from the tutor’s but subdivided in to 3 parts. The first should be a semester-long calendar. This calendar should track every important activity throughout the semester and expected deadline hence planning ahead is enhanced. A weekly calendar should follow. This weekly helps the student note when they are free within the week and make possible arrangements for any ongoing commitment. Lastly, the student should prepare a daily to-do list. In this, prioritization is encouraged. The student should check on what should be completed first with well stipulated and strict deadline. Implementation of this strategy can go a long way in enhancing proper use of time. one evident advantage is the fact that the students understands the need for slotting time to socialize and have fun, and knows when exactly to do that. For the reason, the automate result is a stroke balance between education and social

Quality Improvement Plan Essay Example for Free

Quality Improvement Plan Essay Executive Summary Todays educational system is becoming increasingly competitive for both students and institutions. Total quality management is an approach that seeks to improve quality and performance in an organizations operations. It looks at the overall quality measures including managing the quality design and development as well as quality maintenance and improvement. In addition, it takes into account all quality measures at all levels especially for students. Because of quality management we were able to comprehend and seek solution to the problems regarding the uniform policy. We were able to visualize the outcome of our proposal if this could be implemented. I. PROBLEM STATEMENT The following quality issues noted during the actual observation in the standard policy of uniform at Far Eastern University – Business Center: Quality Problem 1: What will be the appropriate actions necessary to enhance the quality improvement of the university’s standard policy regarding its uniform? Quality Problem 2: How will the University encourage the students to comply with the said standards? Quality Problem 3: How will the FEU improve student awareness and obedience with respect to the implemented rules about uniform? Quality Problem 4: How will the university achieve consistency with regards to the rules implemented about the required uniform? Quality Problem 5: What will be the corrective actions needed to stop the piracy of university uniform by external sewers or producers? II. QUALITY TOOL Fishbone Diagram III. ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM Based on the cause-and-effect diagram (fish bone diagram) we noted the following attributions to the observed quality problem: MANPOWER a. What b. Went c. Wrong MATERIAL a. What b. Went c. Wrong MACHINE a. What b. Went c. Wrong METHODS a. What b. Went c. Wrong MOTHER NATURE a. What b. Went c. Wrong IV.RECOMMENDATION AND BENEFITS Recommendations Benefits 1. The FEU should develop only one standard uniform for both female and male students. (implementation of this matter will be discussed in the next sub heading) This will prevent confusion in identifying FEU students and regulate fair presentation that unity exists in our school. 2. The FEU should provide an orientation per institute before the start of class concerning the guidelines for proper wearing of uniform w/ corresponding punishment for students of non-compliance with uniform policy. (Ex: standard length of girl’s skirts, wearing of rubber shoes, etc.) Specifically, female students are benefited with this in terms of eliminating the erroneous reputation for it will provide pleasing impression to them but it will also promote good character of the school. 3. FEU’s student council per institute should effectively disseminate the new implemented uniform policy approved by the Institute’s Deans and considering enough time for the students to be prepared. Announcing personally increases student’s adherence to the policy and prevents student complaints of information from unreliable sources. 4. All of the said recommendations above would be crucial to maintain so we recommend that FEU should have its own official Tailoring Shop inside the school. Student accessibility and convenience, consistency, less costly service, and prevents delays. V.IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AND BUDGET VI. APPENDICES A. The Patriot Act Protects America Essay -- Argumentative Persuasive Arg

The Patriot Act Protects America Since September 11, 2001 many people can say that America has changed.   Many people question if America has changed for the better or has it just gotten worse. Since the day those four planes crashed around the United States people’s lives have been changed. Many may not realize how their lives have changed, but with new laws passed life is different within America. The United States Patriot Act is one of the laws passed after 9/11: singed into order on October 26, 2001 just 45 days after the attack. The United States Patriot Act was put in place in order to protect Americans, yet has been affecting American’s civil liberties and caused controversy all over the United States. The U.S. Patriot Act was set in place to better serve our country against terrorism.   The U.S. Patriot Act is an Acronym for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Acts (Lithwick).   This act is to punish terrorist actions and improve law enforcement not only in the United States but also around the world. The United States Patriot Act consists of over 1,000 sections that describe the act in great detail.   The sections include, but are not limited to, the power extended to the government by The U.S. Patriot Act to deport and incarcerate non citizens. With the U.S. Patriot Act a person’s phone line can be tapped, records of any and all purchases checked, and even library records searched.   This Act also has sections to help money laundering, expand our country’s border protection, strengthening the extent of criminal laws and provide for people suffering from any type of terrorism acts (Huf fman).    Some Americans think the U.S. Patriot Act goes ag... ...never demolish terrorism but they can help make laws to prevent it. The U.S. Patriot Act is clearly defined and understandable. Even though there are pros and cons to the act it is in the government’s best interest to help keep America safe and keep our civil liberties intact.   Works Cited * Fahrenheit 9/11. Dir. The Person I Admire

Maria Corazon â€Å"Cory† Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was the 11th President of the Philippines and the first woman to hold that office. Aquino was also the first popularly and democratically-elected female president and head of state in Asia. [1][2] She is best remembered for leading the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, which toppled the authoritarian regime of the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos and restored democracy in the Philippines. Tita (Auntie) Cory†, as she is affectionately known, is considered and revered by many Filipinos as an icon of Democracy, and has been hailed by TIME Magazine as the â€Å"Saint of Democracy,† due to her well-known spiritual life and strong adherence to non-violence and democracy. A self-proclaimed â€Å"plain housewife†,[3] Aquino was married to Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. , the popular opposition leader and staunchest critic of then President Ferdinand Marcos. Senator Aquino was assassinated on August 21, 1983 upon returning to the Philippines after his exile in the United States. After her husband's assassination, the widowed Aquino became the unwilling and reluctant leader of the opposition against the authoritarian rule of the Marcos regime. She united the fragmented opposition and strengthened its moral crusade against the abuses and excesses of President Marcos' martial rule. In late 1985, when President Marcos called for a snap election, Cory Aquino was called upon by the people to challenge his regime. Reluctant at first, Aquino thrust herself into the political arena after one million signatures urging her to run for president were presented to her. Despite having no prior political experience, except being her husband Ninoy's wife, Aquino proved to be a cult leader, inspiring orator and skilled campaigner. She ran for president with former senator Salvador Laurel as her vice-presidential running mate. When the Marcos allies-dominated Batasang Pambansa proclaimed Ferdinand Marcos The Great Hero as the winner in the 1986 snap elections, Aquino called for massive civil disobedience protests against him, declaring herself as having been cheated and as the real winner in the elections. Filipinos enthusiastically heeded her call and rallied behind her. These series of events eventually led to the ouster of Marcos from power grabbing and the installation of Aquino as president of the Philippines in February 1986, an event which is now known as the historic 1986 EDSA .
